KB_AD_1_0 - Installation of ErbaExpert system on Windows XP

Issue description:
Can Erba Expert be installed on Windows XP?

Solution:
Although Erba Expert can be installed on the Windows XP operating system, there are many risks and limitations. WinXP is no longer an supported system and we can not guarantee program functionality; especially you can not communicate with the ErbaScan reader (if you are using it).

KB_TP_1_1 - Error R6034 MS Visual C ++ Runtime library during ErbaExpert installation

Issue description:
During installation of ErbaExpert both on Win10 and WinXP, the installation ends after a few moments with the MS Visual C ++ RunTime library runtime error: MsiExec.exe has attempted to load C runtime incorrectly (Error ID R6034).

Solution:
This is a relatively common problem. The reason is that the target computer is not totally okay - the reasons may be more, most often the registry problems.

The easiest solution is to install the system on another computer - but this is not always possible. There are also system maintenance tools, but they do not have to work 100%. The solution is also a clean reinstallation of the system (but beware - the preinstalled installation as an ISO disk may be bugged, too).

KB_TP_1_3 - It is impossible using the com0com component to set ports for system communication with a reader.

Issue description:
When setting the com0com component to communicate with the ErbaScan reader, it is not possible to set the communication ports - a pair of ports are installed but the communication can not be established. The problem occurred on the Win 7 64-bit operating system, the Polish version.

Solution:
Communication could be established if the com0com utility was based on TWO pairs of ports; the system accepted the second pair.

KB_TP_1_4 - The ErbaExpert system launch triggers the installation of the system repeatedly

Issue description:
The system launch triggers the installation of the system repeatedly; if it does not find the installation set, it will freeze.

Solution:
The reason for the problem is limited access by users with restricted rights to the system directory for system files.

A backup solution for versions up to 1.0.03 is to install a workstation on a computer where multiple users will be accessed or the program will be run by a user other than the one installed the system.

Since version 1.0.04, the system installation architecture has changed so that the problem no longer exists. The error caused the use of the default installation directory of ProgramFilesFolder, which, after the Windows 10 update, system restricted the rights for users.
